ABOUT ME
My name is Stef Prieto.
I am a practicing artist and experienced art educator, having dedicated myself to teaching and artmaking full-time since 2020. I hold a Master's of Science (MS) in Art Education as well as a Bachelor's of Art (BA) in Studio Art from Florida State University.
As an artist, I take inspiration from personal experiences surrounding identity, intimacy, and the natural world. I enjoy experimenting with natural, recycled, and low-waste materials in addition to traditional painting and printmaking mediums. My work has been featured in numerous art exhibitions and exists in several spaces permanently in the form of painted murals.

I have experience teaching watercolor and acrylic painting, drawing, basic printmaking, collage, and bookmaking to students of all ages. I have spent the most time teaching art in the elementary public school setting. Outside of schools,
I enjoy facilitating small-group artmaking workshops to community members.
My goals as both an artist and educator are to help others tap in to their creativity, and inspire connection. I strive to use art and education as tools to empower each other towards collective liberation.
Together, through learning and creating, I believe we can cultivate a better world.
